There are many ways to get involved with Abundance Farm. You don't have to be a gardener!
Volunteer Opportunities
Summer Volunteer Hours: Wednesdays from 3:00-6:00 pm, June 4 — October 29, 2025. We encourage people to drop by the Farm anytime during these hours and jump into Farm tasks such as bed prep, mulching, planting, weeding, harvesting, cooking, art making, and community building.
Want to receive updates about specific volunteer opportunities? Email nat@abundancefarm.org with the subject line: volunteering.
Please note, volunteer hours and Community Harvest Hours will be canceled for Jewish Holidays and in the chance of inclement weather. Please check our Calendar and Facebook page for updates.
Internships
Shefa:
שפע, or Shefa - Hebrew for Abundance – is a paid teen educational internship centered on meaningful work outside, community building and Jewish Land Justice values. A Jewish background is not required! In fact, we enthusiastically welcome and encourage people of all cultures to participate and contribute their perspectives.
We welcome both new and returning teens to work alongside each other on our community farm to help grow food for our community while having fun outside together. Activities will include learning ecologically integrated farm skills like building soil, low-impact crop management, pollinator plant care, harvesting medicinal and food crops and preserving crops for future enjoyment. In addition to these skills, teens will spend time each day exploring topics of food and land justice through the lens of Jewish tradition.
Summer Shefa Program Assistant (seasonal):
The Summer Shefa Assistant is responsible for helping to manifest the missions and visions of Abundance Farm and CBI in the context of the Shefa Teen Program. Shefa — Hebrew for Abundance — is a teen educational program centered on meaningful work outside, community building, and Jewish Food Justice. The Shefa Assistant will serve as an assistant to the Farm Educator in facilitating the Summer Shefa Program and support farm operations as needed.
We don’t currently have funding for this opportunity, so it is best suited to those with Praxis or other funding.
